Hannah

“Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a few cents. Calling
his disciples to him, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in every- thing—all she had to live on.”

Mark 12:41-44

At the end of each year, I am exceedingly humbled by the generosity of others toward me and this ministry. In early December I was approached by one of my Board members with a year-end gift. He then added a silver 25 cent piece, a quarter. I asked what this was? He then told me about Hannah. Hannah is his young daughter. She was looking at my Winter 2021 Newsletter and asking several questions. Her father explained more about what it is I do. She dismissed herself and then came back and handed her father the quarter.

She asked, “Do you think this would help?” The heart of a child can remind and re-center our motivations and our focus in a nanosecond.

So, I went to Hobby Lobby the next day and put together a reminder I look at each morning.

“Little is (indeed) much when God is in it.”
