The National Student Leadership Forum is an opportunity to bring young leaders together from around the nation and the world; to discuss the way that Jesus lead and how he has transformed the world today.
This fall we were able to send six college students from Puyallup to the forum. Although many would think that their favorite moments would be of the Capitol or monuments, the most important and meaningful aspect of their trip was the relationships that were formed and deepened. The students had the opportunity to meet with men and women that challenged their faith and provided insight into how they could become better leaders. There are many stories, such as, a continued friendship with Victor a young man from Macedonia, a new friendship with Issa a young man from Jordan, wounds healed, and challenging conversations. This weekend changed all of their perspectives and allowed these students a better understanding of God’s heart.

“Our trip allowed me to share my winter and summer experiences in DC with a group of close friends that I have grown up with in Puyallup. It was a chance to connect people to people, to introduce old friends to new ones. It is such a blessing to have people that know and understand what God has put on my heart. ”
Brian Williams Senior, Western Washington University
“In DC, I was touched by the amazing history of this country and all the great young leaders out there driven to make a difference. The Lord is truly at work in Washington and I was blessed to be a part of this forum”
Jordan Westering Junior, Pacific Lutheran University
“The NSL forum was an excellent opportunity for me to meet like-minded people from around the country who are interested in deepening relationships and furthering their walk with Christ.”
Andy Michel Junior, Western Washington University
“I was blessed to connect with students my age from around the world and to get an insight into their lives and how the leadership of Jesus has influenced them to also be a leader. Through this trip, I was encouraged to step out of my comfort zone and expose myself, but because of that, I learned more about myself… Now that I am back into my everyday living, I have the confidence to be open with others and to discuss the life of Jesus Christ.”
Jill Rogers Junior, Pacific Lutheran University
