“Suffering is a short cut into God’s heart.” Kenneth Bae
Some of you, not many, know that I was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer. The long and short of it: I will have my prostate removed robotically no later than January but hopefully much sooner. My numbers are not staggering, but both my brother and father went through this, and I am following their lead, especially my brother. I am at complete peace, and I know Who is in control and I have a wonderful doctor and support from a fantastic community here in Auburn, Alabama. It is said that men will most likely die with prostate cancer than from it. BUT I have had about six friends die from it, so I would rather not mess with this. AND in every new challenge of life, it is just one more opportunity to make much of Christ. He is enough and I desire the spotlight to be upon Him.
This does not curtail any of the things I am doing here in Auburn, Alabama. Several weeks ago, I had 20 people here to hear from 4 friends about their work in India. After that 22 people showed up from my Sunday School class for a “Welcome to Auburn” party for me. So kind! I have had house guests and meetings here and will continue to gather others as the opportunities arise.
